Mobility Centre Hamilton named best big city retailer
Managing director Katie Noble presented the award to Life Unlimited Charitable Trust chief executive Megan Thomas and Mobility Centre service and development manager Todd Stephenson last week.
Life Unlimited operates Mobility Centre stores in Hamilton, Tauranga, Hastings and Lower Hutt and has retail partners in Coromandel, Gisborne and Rotorua as well as a nationwide Online Store.
“This is a credit to the hard work that the Mobility Centre team in Hamilton did during 2020 to support their community and find solutions for those who would like to continue to live independently,” said Katie.
“It was great to talk to Mobility Centre about how they adapted their business to better support our industry and to ensure its business remains viable and cost effective.
“We support these goals,” she said.
It is the second year in a row a Mobility Centre store has taken out the major centre award. Last year it went to the Lower Hutt team.
Megan said getting the award from Allied Medical meant a lot to her and the whole Life Unlimited team across the country.
“Like all New Zealanders we faced the challenges of Covid-19 both in and out of Lockdown. It was important we supported our Mobility Centre clients with the advice and equipment they need in these challenging times.
“It’s thanks to Mobility Centre staff in all our stores that we achieved this. But more particularly this is an award the team at our Hamilton Mobility Centre store can be especially proud of.”
Life Unlimited offers health and disability information, advice and equipment to create opportunities for people to make and be in control of their own life choices and enables people to live the life they choose.
Allied Medical is a New Zealand owned and operated company, founded in 1998 by Katie and her father Ken. Its purpose is to “Empower people to live with dignity” and they’re doing this by ensuring New Zealanders have access to some of the world’s best assistive technology.
