New Zealand Diploma in Hearing Therapy Level 6

Aural rehabilitation is “any device, procedure, information, interaction, or therapy which lessens the communicative and psychosocial consequences of a hearing loss.” (Mark Ross, Journal of the Academy of Rehabilitative Audiology, 1997).

Life Unlimited delivers the two-year, part-time New Zealand Diploma in Hearing Therapy Level 6. The programme comprises an intensive initial component of online and face-to-face training including practicum, followed by on-job learning and assessment over an 18-20 month period.

The programme is supported by Careerforce, a recognised Industry Training Organisation for the health, wellbeing and social sectors. You can find the qualification overview on the Careerforce website.

Training is predominantly competency based, requiring the integration of aural rehabilitation theory with practice.
