Life Unlimited’s Waiata Programme enables people with disability an opportunity to enjoy music and movement while building confidence, making friends and learning about Māori culture.
The Waiata Programme runs fortnightly on a Wednesday at Kirikiriroa Marae, Wairere Drive, Hamilton East.
|9-10am||Zumba||Get your body moving with this fun, 45-minute workout that mixes exercise and dance moves.|
|10.30am-12pm||Action songs||Learn about Māori culture through traditional actions songs and dance from our Waikato/Tainui iwi.|
|OR Singing||Have fun singing a variety of songs.|
|1-2.30pm||Karaoke/disco||Grab the mic and choose your favourite tune for karaoke – or hit the dancefloor and groove along.|
|OR Raranga||Complete craft projects in this basic introduction to the art of mahi raranga (weaving), including the tikanga surrounding the use of harakeke (flax).|
